Over the weekend, an incredible number of authors and industry experts came together for the second Romance Festival from HarperCollins. Live Twitter chats, Facebook groups, blog posts, tips, advice, questions and answers – it really was a hugely inspiring, entertaining and informative weekend. I especially enjoyed the Facebook connection between authors and book bloggers and also enjoyed following Adele Parks Twitter chat yesterday evening. You can visit the event website to catch up on all the events and follow links to all the content posted by everyone who participated.
I was also delighted to participate in a live Google Hangout yesterday afternoon with fellow Irish writers Carmel Harrington (Beyond Grace’s Rainbow and The Life You Left) and Clodagh Murphy (Some Girls Do) – all expertly moderated by author and books editor of The Evening Herald, Susan Conley. This was a first for us all but we overcame the technicalities and managed to chat live on webcam from our homes in Wexford, Dublin and Kildare. It was great fun and hopefully we shared some helpful advice for aspiring writers, as well as sharing some insights into our writing with readers. If you missed it, you can watch the recording of the chat.
You can also read my author Q&A for the event. I’m already looking forward to next year’s festival!
