I actually cannot explain how excited I am to be heading off to New York next week. For the first time – in person – I will meet my agent, my editor and all the team at William Morrow/HarperCollins at their brand new offices on Broadway.
Having worked so closely with everyone on the release of THE GIRL WHO CAME HOME I already feel as if I know these people so well, but it will be very special to sit down together and talk about plans for my forthcoming release A MEMORY OF VIOLETS.
I visited New York for the first time three years ago, when I had just started writing THE GIRL WHO CAME HOME. I took my laptop and kept up the word count in the airport and on the flight (and when I woke up at 4am with jetlag!) I loved the city and felt immediately at home there. It really is a dream come true to be going back again to visit my publisher.
And although I’ll be busy, busy with meetings and a book signing, I’m also planning a trip to the Met Museum for research and am really looking forward to seeing an early preview of The Elephant Man, starring Bradley Cooper.
I’m sure there’ll be lots of photos and news to share when I get home. Watch this space!

I’m excited for you. Great time of year to be here. Wish I could join you.
